Minutes of Regular Meeting held February 24, 2009

Meeting called to order @ 7:00 PM
Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read.
Treasurer’s report was presented by Jeff Harkins and had a current ending balance of $679.04 and was approved.
Barrett gave a report about the State Central Committee meeting that was held in Boise January 30-31, 2009. Norm Semanko, Idaho State Chairman spoke of his Georgetown University Law School classmate, Michael Steele, who had just been elected National Republican Party Chairman. Several rules were presented but did not pass. The problem with the time frame between the primary election and the general election was discussed at length. There doesn’t seem to be any easy answers to resolving this issue.
Lincoln Day Banquet has been set for Sunday March 22 at noon at the Best Western Broiler Room. Our cost will be $18. A motion was made by Frank Dammeral to charge $30 per person for the brunch and it was 2nd by Thomas Lawford. Motion passed.
A motion was made by Thomas Lawford to spend $420 for postage to send 1000 newsletters with the invitations to the banquet. 2nd was by Mike Sharp and the motion passed.
To date, Tom Luna State Superintendent of Schools, Donna Jones the state controller, and Brad Little, Lt Governor will attend.
There will be an auction in conjunction with the banquet. Those with items to donate for the auction should contact Barrett.
Discussion was held about changing the booth space for the Latah County Fair in September. Pros and Cons were discussed and the item was tabled for one month until people could go look at the spaces.
