Minutes of Regular Meeting held July 22, 2008

Proceedings:

Meeting called to order 7:10 PM

Minutes of the previous meeting were amended regarding attendance list and approved as amended.

Treasurer’s report remained the same as previously reported $2051.47

Barrett opened the discussion about possible dates for the August BBQ. There was much discussion about the number of people planning to be out of town from Thursday August 28 through September 1 (Labor Day). The consensus of the group was to not have the BBQ that weekend. The Previous weekend was discussed and there was strong sentiment to hold it on Friday, August 22^nd. Tom and Joann Trail will host the event.

People volunteered to bring things and Barrett made notes and will remind people of their donations.

There was discussion of ways to advertise the event and open it to the public. Barrett offered to print a newsletter that would be mailed with the invitations. A motion was made by Mike sharp to authorize $420 for postage, 2^nd by Shelley McGuire and passed unanimously. The Daily News will be contacted with an informational story regarding the BBQ and Shelley McGuire will contact the radio stations about having it mentioned free on the event announcements.

Discussion was held about Palousafest/UI Student Event on Saturday, August 23 from 5:30 to 10 PM. Motion was made by Mike Sharpe to pay $30 to have a table at the event. The motion was 2^nd by Roger Falon and passed.

Announcement was made regarding the Risch Fund Raiser on Tuesday August 12 at Walter and Mary Steed’s home from 6-8 pm. Bill Sali will be in Moscow on August 25^th.
