Minutes of January meeting were approved.
Treasurer’s report: The Lincoln Day Banquet generated $1,071 for the dinner (net), $643 in auction proceeds (additional $125 check pending) for a total of $1,714 (additional $125 check pending). We have had another $570 in miscellaneous donations giving us a current cash balance of $4,916.47 (additional $125 check pending). The financial report was approved.
The filing date for Candidates is March 10th through March 21st. At this time the candidates we are aware of for County seats are: Connie Ferguson – Treasurer and Wayne Rausch – Sheriff (Keith Wilson has said he is filing on the Democratic ticket). Other seats open are Commissioners District I and II as well as Prosecuting Attorney. Some names have come up of people who may be interested, but no one was in attendance.
Both Representative Tom Trail and Senator Gary Schroeder will be up for re-election this year as will the 3rd Legislative seat. Barrett Schroeder reminded everyone that all Precinct Committee positions are also up for election this year. He had forms for anyone who needed one. We have 14 open precincts and hope to fill some of those.
Carl Hulquist said the Domestic Violence bill he has worked very hard on, passed 67-0 on the House Floor and will now go to the Senate.
Meeting adjourned 7:45 p.m.
